is it possible for the ac not to work because the o 2 sensor
I'm going to go check out those 98 audi a 4 but check engine light is on because the o 2 sensor and the seller says the a/v doesn't work because the o 2 sensor is that true?

LoL I agree with CC. How would an O2 sensor affect AC at all? Just the fact that he honestly said that would make me not buy that car. God knows what else is gonna be wrong with it after you buy it. I say run away

The O2 sensors have nothing to do with the HVAC or AC. The one in front of the cat is to make sure your engine is working right, and the one behind the cat is to make sure the cat is working right....more or less. Tell him to **** up a rope.

that's what i figured, hes says that he goo ogled it. hes gonna post me a link soon. he also said a code came on on the scanner it was P0422 or P0442. he said that teh haed was rebuilt and the timing belt was done . he sent me some pics with someone doing the work. im still skeptical

Agreed. All the O2 sensor does on that car is verify that the air-to-fuel ratio is within a certain range. If the sensor didn't work then the car would likely run rich... Not a cause for the AC to stop working by any means.
I'm not sure this is the sort of person I would want to be buying a used car from... Try looking elsewhere.

just talked to him again and he said that even with teh heater it doesnt blow air. you can only feel air for the defroster. then he was saying something a Bout the 2 white wires on the o2 sensor. when teh cel came on for the 02 sensor the ac and heater stooped working.

The 2 white wires on the O2 sensor are for the O2 sensor heater (built into the sensor, for when the engine is cold).
Lack of heat is definitely unrelated to an oxygen sensor. This has to be a joke.
