I'm not fully clear on offset. 15 - 17 would be poking a little? I'm still learning so could you explain a bit more?

the silver avant I posted is pretty flush (maybe a few mm little past flush) with 8.5" et21. 1/2" is about 12mm so for the same look as that with 8" wide you'd need ~et15.. right?

offset is how far in/out the wheels are. spacers will change the offset. for example if you have a 17x8" wheel with an original offset of 35 then add 20mm spacers to it, the final offset will be 15 (35mm-20mm). if the width is 8.5" instead of 8", it will stick out a quarter inch farther, at least for one piece wheels.

mercedes wheels are mostly also 5x112. they should be direct fit after hubcentric rings. the older ones (pre early 2000s?) use 12mm bolts instead of 14mm so they may have to be redrilled to fit.

The second ones look wayyyy better.... i just think it'd be weird to have the cedes rims on the audi... unless you could change the cap out?

but other than that i think it'd be strange lol

sorry phil

I'd consider the Avant to be poking instead of flushed. I'm running 18X8.5 with 25 offset in the fronts and they're sitting flushed to the fenders. I guess you're right, perhaps 20 (since it's 8 inches) or lower, depending on how much poke you'd want.

This is what I consider "flushed":

MrPhil - I'm not sure if the first ones will fit but I know the second one does as I've seen some people with those. aledelic has those and he's selling his set (IIRC).

Thanks a lot, that makes much more sense. I sort of understood the whole offset thing considering the definition for the word but the other stuff was japanese to me. Thank you!
