Default Please help questions about 99 1.8 head

Hello I just purchased a 99 a4 1.8 Quattro that had the timing belt break. It needs a new head and new belt and tensioner and so on. I was going to buy a used head but I'm having such a hard time!! My mechanic said he thinks I have to have the exact 1999 a4 1.8 Quattro head?! He said it has to be for the Quattro and it has to be 1999. This doesn't sound right he doesnt specialize in Audi so there is a good chance he's wrong. Any ideas. I found a 97 1.8 head but it's non Quattro and I found a 2000 head Quattro 1.8

Audi's 1.8 was engine code AEB from 97 - 99. Get a head off another AEB and you'll be fine. Quattro/Schmattro. An AEB is an AEB. They also put that motor in the Passat and maybe the Golf/Jetta.

Yep anything AEB will work. Doesn't matter if it's Quattro or FWD, since the front end of Quattro and FWD cars is the same (minus the transmission).
