Is there an easier way to lookup the part number for the Neutral Safety Switch on my 97 A4? Other than having to remove it from the transmission?

The car is in safe mode and needs a new one.... but the parts places I've called need to know the exact part number (I guess the VIN won't work) to get the correct part. But I'm still driving the car since it's my only form of transportation and can't pull the switch until I have the new one.
