painting lowers

Default painting lowers

hey guys. i want to paint my lowers. i have a 96 2.8 quattro a4 and its pearl white. i know that i can get paint matched to my car but i was wondering if anyone knew how difficult it is to get the pearl paint to stick to my lowers. thanks

just sand it down with 600 and you should be good. then go over it with clear coat. make sure you get paint that can be clear coated though

from what I know/have heard


DO NOT TRY TO PAINT PEARL WHITE LOWERS

you will never match the color....the way they paint on pearlescent is with many layers....you should take your car to a professional shop and have them do it

if you are dead set on painting them yourself....paint them black....

Yeah, pearl is a mother f'er to match. As for getting the paint to stick, after you prep sand, spray them down with adhesion promoter, and then a layer or two of primer, and there should be no issues with the paint sticking.

As it's been mentioned,stay away from painting the lowers w/pearl. It will look horrible if it's not done right. If you're looking to clean them up - i use Mother's Back to Black on mine

+1 back to black is great. I use it on all the rubber surrounding my windows.
