Well after searching on here and not seeing anything about anyone painting the headlight housings I decided to give it a shot. I'd say it turned out great and it definatly looks alot nicer on the car now. Let me know what you guys think!

That looks pretty cool.

Some people had done it with the one piece headlights. It's a pretty simple process that just takes some patience.

How's the light output after the paint?

 

The corners aren't quite as bright. I just finished them today so no night driving yet. The light output shouldn't be changed any though cause I didn't paint of the reflective portion of the housing.

 

No plan on upgrading to projectors?

 

Hmm... I actually like that. Was it hard to get the lens off?

 

No projectors. I'm cheap, that's why I did this and not aftermarket 1 piece headlights. The lense on the headlights comes off with clips so that was easy but the side markers was another story. I had to put the passenger side one in the oven for a bit and I ended up melting one of the tabs. Other than that I didn't have any trouble at all.

Haha well you're side markers might not need to be put in the oven. One of them I pried with a screwdriver and it split apart. But the other one I wasn't so lucky. You could always just do you're headlights, 5 clips and the lense is off.

Just took it for a test drive and I didn't loose any light at all. Even the turn signals seem to be pretty bright still.

 

I've wanted to do this with the projectors I have on my car being I dislike them and would rather spend $$ on something else other then OEM lights. I like the way yours turned out.

 

I really like how that turned out - nice work on a project very few seem to have done
