Paint scuff - door material?
Hey all,
I did something pretty embarrassing last night.. I have a scooter for my quick little trips around town and I set it up next to the audi last night.. It must not have been leaning far enough on its kick stand, 'cause after I was about 4 feet away from it it tipped and fell right onto the car
the good news is there aren't any dents, but there is a pretty good sized scrape / scuff that's kind of reddish in color.
my question is.. what's this material under the paint on the driver's side rear door? it doesn't sound or feel like metal.. ? can I just 'buff it out' in some fashion or should I find some kind of touch up paint?
what do you guys usually do for minor scratches and scuff marks?

Should be able to buff it out. I swiped my garage door frame one time backing out (lame) and it left hideous marks on the side of the rear bumper. After a buff it was 98% better. You will sacrifice a little clear coat if you get it buffed though. But better than looking at scuffs. Get as much buffed out as possible and then use clay bar for any deep scratches.
