There's a DIY at AudiWorld that'll show you how to do it. And as for why to paint the roof black? Cuz it's sexy

Yeah usually it is but a few guys on here have done it and it looks great. You don't paint the pillars though, just the main roof and the gutters - leave the pillars and the roof section in line from A to C pillar body color. It looks awesome.

As for AudiWorld, you don't need to register - go to the site and at the top, click on Resources, and then Tech Articles, and you'll get a huge list of DIYs. AudiDIY.com also has some good ones.

This'll show you an idea how it looks:

what I'm going to do differently is paint the gutters on the roof. See at the top of the windshield how the silver kind of cuts in above the windshield? I don't want that. I want the silver bodywork line of the A pillar to flow up and over the doors in silver, but the black section to follow the vertical line of the windshield.

Now you should know the answer from our cars being parked next to each other. I can only assume that if my facelift A4 is different the S4 should be too. I hate to break the bad news but with you making me green with envy over all your deals I'm going to lol.

Yeah but at least one of the cars (coughyourscough) needed a wash lol so it was hard to tell

Actually I knew ours were different and was hoping my color was still offered but I doubt it - like you guys all said I'm gonna have to paint it.

I need to see another picture of your car Devil. It looks two tone from that angle and I can't stand it. Do you have any others?!

Nick, I think I have some others. But there is a slight mismatch, mainly because I haven't yet wetsanded and buffed tge lowers, so the reflectivity of the paint is different. It should match up almost perfectly once I do that (I had LY7M paint mixed at a paint shop for doing the lowers). I'm sure it won't be 100% because the aerosol can atomization isn't as fine as an HVLP paint gun, but it'll be very close.

Hmm, I wasn't so much commenting on your lowers as I was everything below the side moldings. It's just the angle and lighting that reminds me of my brothers '93 ES300. That's the only picture I've seen of your car and it upsets me.
