P1300 & P0301, engine running rough, it is not Coilpack or ICM. What else?

Update: P0301 switched, engine running rough, it is not Coilpack or ICM. What else?
Car: 1999 Audi A4 1.8T (Quattro)
This week my car started to run rough during acceleration (just fine when idling), engine seems to be trembling. I searched and read through and people suggested either Coil Packs or Ignition Control Module replacement in the past and it seemed to work.
I bought and tested a new coilpack still got the same codes. Purchased and replaced the ICM but now the code "changed" to P0302 (cylinder 2). Does that mean the replacement Ignition Control Module is faulty?
Also replaced the spark plugs to new.
What else could possibly be wrong? If you have any thoughts on it please share.
Thanks.

Updated above but after replacing the ICM engine code changed from cylinder 1 misfire to cylinder 2 (P0301 to P0302). If all else fails I might just have to take it to the Audi specialized mechanic.

The ICM that I purchased was used from Phill's Auto in CO and yes it was DOA (confirmed by my local mechanic) but the seller refused to even talk about it or resolve the issue so I filed a report with the CC and they will take care of it...
Ended up buying a new ICM for $147 shipped from autohausAZ.com seems like a great business that takes care of its customers.
Thanks for the reply Martin

Changed the ICM, car drives perfectly. BTW is this true? http://www.goapr.com/products/apr_exhaust_a418t.html I have that exhaust (was previously installed) and it gives that much power without any chipping etc?

The car you have actually has two ICMs and if its not one of them, check your compression either by hooking it up to a computer with the diagnostic software to give you a compression check OR, if you have a good ear, Disconnect all of your ignition coils and crank the ignition. It wont start but the starter will still turn and what your listening for is steady rhythm. If theres a consistent sound of a mis-rhythm, you have bad compression and that can cause a misfire.
Also, try swapping a fuel injector from a cylinder thats firing to the one that isn't and see if the misfire follows the fuel injector.
