Default P0411 lost!!

I have a 2001 1.8t and the following code came up p0411 secondary pump. I read some threads where it said check the combi/valve because it could just be the hose or something simple that. The problem is I have no idea where this is...I know pathetic! Does anyone know of a diy with pics? And all other help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Does it make a high pitched sound upon starting the car?

The secondary air line is the small hose that attaches to the air intake box (where the filter is located).

No high pitched noise, sounds the same as usual.

Autounion, is that the hose that sits right on top of the airbox? or do I have do remove the airbox( which I did already) and it sits under it? another question, is the secondary air pump under the airbox when the airbox is removed?

THANKS

On the 2000 1.8t, the secondary air line attaches to the front/side of the top of the air box. The pump should be connected to this line. I wish I could tell you more but I've never had any problems with mine.

Here's what you do. Look by the throttle body between the intake runners and you'll see a braided vaccum hose that runs towards the passenger side firewall. It's connected to some sort of valve and more than likely the hose that connects the two together is your problem. I had the same code and that fixed my problem. The hose gets beat up and either can be pinched shut or cracked somewhere. It's easier just to replace it with a vaccum hose from any parts store. Hope this helps.

everyone only seems to be addressing the air lines but i was recently thowing this code and it was a combo of my diverter valve and air line mine was making a high pitch sound which was the line but if it isnt making a sound then it could quite possibly be your diverter valve and there really isnt any way to test it just to replace it so that might be worth a shot and it is only like 50 bucks to replace

the vaccum lines are the cheapest thing to replace so it's just easier on the wallet to start there.
