Overheating Issue
Here is what is going on:
Replaced the timing belt, water pump, thermostat 2 summers ago.
My car is now overheating everytime I drive it. After around 5min the car is up to normal temp. Then in another 5 min the needle is at HOT and the anti freeze light comes on.
After another 5 min the oil light will come in and out about every 10 min. Not sure what is going on. I have tried keeping the hot air on but that only worked for like 2 days.
If it is the thermostat will the car just READ hot or will it actually RUN hot?
Any suggestions will be great as for the first time it started to leak anti freeze.
Thanks

Burp the cooling system to see if there is air in there. If you can't burp any air or if it continually burps air and never seems to be rid of it, you have issues. It's possible that your thermostat stuck shut (even though we have fail-safe units that are made to fail open). The more ominous possibility is a head gasket tear between a coolant galley and a cylinder.
First though, change the coolant temp sensor to see if it's faulty (although I'm doubting it, given the other warnings you're getting).
