Default Outside temp sensor

98, outside temp sensor reading -45. AC will not work. Have replaced sensor, sometimes it works. Like when I don't need the AC. Plug connection is good and clean. Is there a way to bypass this or fake it out?

I'm not sure if a 98 has one, but my car has two temp sensors. Aside from the ambient air temp sensor, there is also the "Ambient air temp sensor 2" also know as the "Fresh air Sensor".

It took me quite a while to figure that out, If you take the cabin air filter out, you'll see it poking out (it's all black). You have to turn it to unlock it and you have to reach way up under the dash to get it out/put a new one in.

I hope that helps.
