Default Original Transmission and Clutch

Just bought my 96 a4 V6 with 198k from the original owner. Dealer serviced since month one. According to him, its the original clutch and tranny. Seriously? Is that common? It drives like a dream! How can I prolong them further? Thanks!

don't ride the clutch or keep it depressed for long periods of time (at stop lights) to keep the throwout bearing going as long as it can.

My car has 145k and its the original clutch. I learned how to drive manual on it at 126k miles and it still holds up, and the first month I had it I smelt that wonderful clutch burning smell more than once.
