Default Old Grille New Look MOD...(Pictures)

Got bored one day and it was nice out so I thought about doing something to the car...

(You are a B5 owner when instead of going to the lake with friends you think of ways to mod your car on a nice sunny day)

Anyways... so while watching people garden at the apartment complex i live in, I saw the fencing they were using for the little trees so animals wont get to them and i thought to my self that it would be perfect for grille mod and this is how my day went by...

I will have pictures with the grille on the car very soon so stay tuned...

thanks a lot. Its an easy mod and it looks so much better than stock. Someone once told me to get rid of chrome trim on the grill ebc of my CF hood so i thought of painting it all black and leave logo chrome but for people who have silver hoods it would look sick if you paint your original grille with silver and keep the mesh stock color.

Nice. I getting an OEM grill I can't wait. Oh yeah and some time this weekend I had and idea similar to yours, I'm going to home depot to buy some small black fencing to fill in where the mesh is in the rear and front. : )

I did something similar to this, except i didnt put the OEM plastic grill behind the mesh. The mesh and trim was painted black but the audi badge was left chrome. Looked pretty good actually.

did you cut out the plastic and kept the hooks? because thats the only way you will be able to lock the grille in the hood is you kept the same grille and cut out middle parts. Unless you are a true B5 owner and used zip ties ))))

If i remember correct i used some sort of extra strength sillicone. Surprisingly held on pretty tight. Im pretty sure there were like 2 clips on the chrome trip that clipped onto the hood aswell, this was on a b6 so it might have been different.

It looks pretty good. How do you think the painted mesh will hold up to rocks? Did you prep it any special way?
