and I currently own a 2001 A4 2.8 - pretty sweet little ride - and I was wondering just our of curiosity - would a V10 from an RS6 Euro or from an R8 fit in the A4 2.8 bay? I know a V8 can fit because I have seen the project that was done but is a V10 possible? and would you go with the 5.0TFSI or the 5.2 with a supercharger .. thoughts? opinions?

I doubt very much that it'd physically fit - the V8 requires loss of the fan and trimming of the core support, and the V10 is longer still.

 

You have money just freaking mod the bay and make it fit...

 

It'd prolly cost more money to retrofit the motor than it would to just BUY an R8

 

Seriously, depending on the amount that you'll have to spend, I'd look at an RS6 with the twin-turbo 4.2, pick up a clean one, and mod that.

 

450 horses, stock... adding a chip, and who knows what you'll get...

Too bad the RS6 only came in an automatic trans...

 

i am mostly wanting to do it just because i want to see an A4 with a V10 - to see how amazing it would be - i figured i would just drop the money and buy an R8 cash - thats not going to be a problem - and the problem with the RS6 is that it comes with the automatic - totally loses the driving aspect when you put an automatic in something like an RS6 - just figured it would be a cool project to see an A4 with a V10

 

Buy forza 3.... Put the v10 in the b5 s4 and call it a day lol
