oil on intercooler

bump for a legit answer on this question. I've heard a few different answers, one is that your turbo could be shot, and the other is that your getting oil in your intake somewhere. Either one isnt good, but one obviously is worse then the other. Not sure which is true though.

Oil in the boost hoses is normal... to a point. Pooling oil is not good. In general, if the car is not smoking out the tailpipe or is not consuming a large amount of oil (more than 1 QT every 1000 miles), it's not an issue and is considered "normal."
If you are seeing some smoke or consuming large quantities of oil, check the PCV system. The hoses can collapse or the valves rot or fail, causing excess oil to wind up in the intake system. Additionally, you can remove the hose from the turbo to the intercooler cross-over pipe and look for excessive oil blowing past the turbo seal into the boost hoses.
Hope this helps.
