Default Oil in Coolant?

So, My girlfriend just got a B5 Passat and I noticed the coolant looked a little darker than usual. I flushed it and here is what it looks like. I flushed it and then ran deionized water through it for 10 mintues, flushed it out and put peak flush with water in and ran it for about 20 minutes. THen flushed and added coolant. Could this be a oil cooler iself or just the gasket, or did I not flush it enough times?
Thank you

Is thAt g12 or green ****? It looks like a head gasket have you ran a compression test?

I believe that is a mixture of a lot of stuff lol
No, I haven't yet. It doesn't smoke or over heat, but it does take a while for the heat to really work. Stuck open thermostat?
thanks

Well if its a mixture it looks like it can just be g12 mixed with green. This causes a orange/brown color. This would cause a gummy thermostat and probaly sadly has clogged your heater core a bit. Run it for a few miles and drain the coolant again and see the color of it then. You put g12 back in?

PO of my car mixed coolant and mine looked just like this. I'd do a compression check anyway just to rule out a bad head gasket but definitely don't start throwing $100 bills at it just yet.

Yes I did put g12 back in it. I would like to run just water and some flush in it for a few days and then drain it, but I'm afraid it's going to get to cold for that. When I poured it out though it kind of beaded up/bubbly like oil and water mixed and when it was on the ground you could see the rainbow effect.
But if it is a oil cooler problem, would it be a gasket or the cooler itself?
Thanks

go grab the cooler like the hulk would and wiggle it. Does it move? it should be solid as the rock of Gibralter.

Its very possible the cooler is leaking. coolant and oil pass through the same housing.

We have them available at a great price if it turns out you need one!

Let me know if you have any questions.
