oil burning smell :(
so i replaced my valve cover gaskets since they were leaking onto my spark plugs but im still getting an oil burning smell from my car. i checked the valve cover gaskets and the nuts are tight and everything seems to be dry. however im kind of questioning the quality of the valve cover gasket kit i got from napa.
any ideas ? my car has a 2.8 30v. i have had the car for 3 months now and put 8k on it and no problems other than this burning oil smell. i just put front brakes and rotors on it as well.

ok. since your valve cover gasgets WERE leaking, you might still be burning off old oil that is still 'stuck' on the engine from when it was leaking. Or there is another leak somewhere.....
When you drive it and it's heated up and you park, just let it sit for awhile and see if you have oil underneath it.
If that is the only leak you saw, I'm sure you are just burning off the oil tha tpreviously leaked onto the engine or exhaust....
