Default OBD II prob, serious(?)

i think my car is goin to sh*ts. the problems i need to fix are growing into a mountain.

the biggest problem atm i think is that whenever i check for codes via obd II scan, it hangs. the engine link, ABS link, SRS link, AT link, they all just attempt to scan, but never produce codes, or say "no codes found." i don't know why it's not working anymore.. i'm quite certain it's the car and NOT the scanner..

this seems serious and may help resolve other problems i am having if i can get some codes... can ANYONE help?

my car will owe you its life. we're hitting 100k any day now, but we would like to make it much longer!

because i had codes before when it WAS working that were never resolved.. and now that the scanner is not working, i may have stumbled upon an even larger problem? it's a hunch, but i would like to resolve this...

What problems are you having? Have you tried using the scanner on another Audi?

Your cowl isn't by chance clogged with leaves, leaving your vital electronics in a pool of water, is it...?

atm i'm having brake light problems, powerlock problems, and some others that aren't related to electronics... i haven't tried my scanner on another audi.. i don't know anyone else with one.

where might the cowl be located? is that a portion of the radiator? i will check this tomorrow.

The cowl is under the windshield, where the battery sits. Lift up the black plastic.

You should list your issues and symptoms.

i dont think they are really related to the obd2 scanner not working, but my power lock is not working correctly...i hear the air pump, and what sounds like the trunk locking/unlocking but in fact, it does not.

my keyless entry doesn't work after changing the batteries (need to reprogram somehow, i have tried various methods i searched, none of which worked).

radio stopped working.. i was tryin to get it out without the proper tools and somehow the power got d/c i suppose...awaiting the arrival for my removal tools

a regular scan tool will not fix this

Find a person with a vag-com scanner if they have one they most likely will know the codes to get you’re window/key situation fixed

You probably yanked something and that’s not good, does it not work as in doesent power on or does it say SAFTEY on the lcd screen?
