obd 2 not connecting

Default obd 2 not connecting

My check engine light is on. i tried to get the code with an obd2 scanner but it wasnt able to connect with the car. i have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the factory radio installed?

What scanner do you have?

its just a basic obd2 code reader. it wont establish a connection with the car.

I've been having the same issue with my car. I have a VAG-COM and cant get into the car.

Sounds like a K-line issue. If there's an aftermarket or broken radio in the car, usually you start there.

Check all the fuses. I believe there is a K-line fuse. Then, pull the radio and be sure te connectors are not cut up or corroded. Use some stabilant or contact cleaner on them and plug the radio back in.

all my fuses are good. yes i have an after market stereo but all my connections seem good. where can i find that k line fuse??

aftermarket stereos can disrupt the OBD port. its probably not a fuse.

i had this same problem last week....to be honest it was my coil pack but i see that is was broken replaced it and connected no problem afterwards goodluck
