of o2 sensors and cat converters
Hi guys
Well been a while finally got codes for the engine shudder.
They are :
18001 P1593 Altitude adaptations: signal out of tolerance
17545 P1137 Bank 1 Mixture adaptation (add): system too rich
As far as i understand this - my o2 sensor is gone, audi tech says the shudder is from too much fuel in the mix.....
Question here is, the previous owner removed the catalytic converter and put a normal forward exhaust on......watever that means.....
Have had the car for a while and never been giving prob without the cat. Should I replace the cat and the sensor or just replace the sensor.

Hi
Thanks for the help Colony - replaced the cat, but god at what a price......
Anyway, just got the car back from my mechanic. The o2 sensor is still in the box on my front seat grrrr......apparently the harness connector is much larger than the one on my car.
Spoke to the guy that sold it to me at Gold wagen in SA....apparently bosch supplies a universal one for all a4's, tells me that I need to remove the connector from the old sensor and put it on the new one.
Is this advisable and how to do this, if anyone knows pls.
Thanks.
