That's what I meant for trans, manual or auto.

Have you checked the voltages, such as the main hot wire going to the starter? If you have power there, check to see if you have power to the smaller wire to the starter while someone attempts to start the car. If you don't have power there, you need to back track to see if one of the relays doesn't work.

In the auto trans, you should have an ignition switch which runs through a neutral safety switch and a start relay. I don't know right off the top of my head.

well for my problem i replaced the locking pump it fixed my door locks not working and my alarm going off at random times but as for the car not starting believe it or not all my problem was was that the starter ground wasnt getting a good connection it was corroded and as soon as we found that we cleaned it put it back on and my car fired right up and has been fine ever since. The reason we found it was because we bumped the starter and the car would crank. Let me know if this helps you i did change the ignition switch on the car but it wasnt the problem so i put my old one back it. i only have one set of keys for this car the key with the light all the other ones the previous owner lost hope this helps

i believe the ignition switch on these cars is actually a factory recall they just sent me something in the mail about it. might as well take it to the dealer let them fix it for free

I was going to start my car but when I turned the key, I didn't turn it all the way and kind of just half went to start the car and then all of a sudden it wouldn't start. It ran and started perfectly before this. This screamed blown fuse to me but I can't find the starter fuse. Assuming there wasn't one I bought an ignition switch and installed it. Still the car won't start and when you turn the key, everything turns on but nothing even attempts to start the car just like before. This doesn't sound like a starter problem because I know what they sound like when they go bad. This was sudden and had something to do with the time I half turned the key.

Anyone have anything for me?
Ok to bring my question to a close. I took it to the dealer and they told me the starter was bad. They quoted me 750 to replace the starter. 350 or so just for the starter. I picked a used one up from a member on here for like 60 bucks and installed it in a few hours myself. Below is a link to the DIY I did for it. It'll save ya 730 bucks!
