no spark and no fuel out of injectors

RE: no spark and no fuel out of injectors
The problem is that I don't have an immobilizer according to Ross-Tech and the Vag-Com. Of course i called the Ross-Tech help line and they also told me that I don't have a chip in my key. The only problem is that I do have a chip in my key (I can see it) and my owners manual for the car says I have a chip in my key. Any ideas would be helpful...because I am running out of them. Called a dealer and a stealer today and the stealer made an appt to reprogram...the DEALER (the one that I think is pretty smart) said they would get back with me.

Another thing is that the Car was stamped by a dealer in Cinncinatti when the car only had 27 miles on it and the VIN tag in the maintenence book proves it. So unless somebody switched out the ignition and manual...then I don't have an answer....so I guess I will pose the question in another thread

The chipped keys can be cut for a non-immo car. My 98 manual mentions the immobiliser system but I don't have it, so I am thinking domestic and export manuals must be the same.
To rule out the immobilizer question for sure, get at your central locking box in the trunk on the passenger side. There's a part number on it. Audi dealer can tell you if yes or no.
What happened to your old ECM? Have you tried substituting it?

Can anybody do a favor and run a vag-com on a similiar vehicle. Specifically on the Module 35, measuring group 4. This is central locking part number 8L0 862 257 B. My alarm system keep on saying it is armed (denote 1) in the last g group of numbers.

Alright...I finally got some life out of this engine! I ended up clipping one of the wires from the ECU to the Crank position sensor and Engine Speed sensor and I can get the engine to fire! Just once...but she tries. Looking for some suggestions. I have ran the electrical test for both sensors and they both appear to be good. I would expect to get 5 volts out of Pin A9...to feed both of these sensors. Please check the pic!

Hey! thanks to everybody that replied! Finally figured out that the timing was off! Strange. I replaced the coil pack, power output stage, ignition switch, and had a new key cut. The last final shot was the timing! I have to tell ya I was a happy camper to final figure it out...even if it took a little more than I expected!
