Default No reading (0.0) on Mass Airflow Sensor

Hey!

When connecting with a VAG-COM trying to get the airflow, my MAF shows 0.0.. I tried disconnecting and checking the MAF cable for faults, but it seemed fine. Took out the MAF, seems physically good, but has no brand, only markings on it is 101 101205, perhaps the previous owner replaced it?

What do you think? Bad MAF or something else?

Audi A4 2000 1.8T Quattro

Thanks!

That's what I would do. I'm assuming you are getting fault codes for it as well?

If I were you, I'd go to a pick n pull yard and just grab one or two. Give it a good clean, and put it in. These MAFs are the same for most B5 years (if not all), and the newer Passats too (2001+ I think).

Sorry for the double post. Firefox died on me the moment I hit "post".

Yea, there is a fault code as well.

And so I ordered a new MAF, as the junk yard charges more for an old original bosch than I can get a new OEM.

Hopefully this will work.

That's surprising. I know we have some junk yards that charge an arm and a leg here, but our pick and pull would charge a max of $10 for a MAF. Hope that helps! Let us know either way.
