No boost, super sluggish off the line
I just finished my car. I bought it with a sheared timing belt. rebuilt the head, replaced the plastic EGR thing coming from the side of the engine and replaced the rubber tee. I am thinking it may be from a vacuum leak. It sounds like there is one coming from around the number three or number four injector but it is faint and I can't tell. The CEL is not on. the car has 89,300 miles on it. are these cars super slow off of the line? I was wondering if the cam timing could be off, but it doesn't stutter or miss. I will check it tomorrow. I turned the engine over by hand quite a few times when I put it all back together and everything stayed aligned. when it gets to about 5k rpm it pulls a little bit but not much. I have to put it into manual mode and drop to 4th to barely accelerate or 3rd. All 5th is good for is maintaining speed on a level surface. I have to give it way too much throttle to get going and to keep speed. Are our cars normally that sluggish with no boost? Thanks to all. I am a new owner. I got the car for $250 and it is in pristine condition except for a dent where a branch fell, got that fixed though. I'll upload pics asap

you might want to do a throttle body alignment.
Disconnect the battery from the car and let it sit for 10 min. THen hook it back up and turn the ignition to ON but do not start it. Let it sit there for another 5 min (throttle body alignment) then start the car, let it warm up and then see if it's better. If your in limp mode doing this will get you out. If it's still doing it then there is something else going on.
