Thank you for all your help. I am taking it to a shop to get a second opinion before I send it to ATP. I know its def not oil starvation Because it was bleeding oil out of the CHRA when I was taking off the housings.. Not foreign object because the impellers are fine.. But on the exhaust side theres that metal on metal..

aftger reading the post an you last one, whenever metal on metal comes in the same sentence as turbo bad things always follow. Serious if the impellers are scraping then thats really a good thing. My thing is if your already taking the turbo out you might as well get it rebuilt, rebuilds are dirt cheap compared to a all new turbo also you may consider cryoing it since its already apart, it will seriously increase the life of it and actually accept more boost. If you have any questions about cryoing it or anything else about the turbo send me a pm and ill hook ya up to the right people to get it done.

I have never heard of anyone doing cryo treatment to a Turbo.

BTW oil is going to dribble out of the oil drain line because it is not closed off 100%. It is kinked which means it is not going to be flowing at 100% and this means oil is not going to flow thru the CHRA quick like it should.

How do you expect a good amount of oil to flow thru a opening that is about 10% of what it should be? It is not about starvation, its about lack of flow and allowing the oil temps inside the CHRA to get way too high causing the bearings to give. I have seen people burn up brand new GT turbos in 60 miles.

Cryo is basically a cold dip of the metal to re-align all the molecules together to make a stronger piece of metal. My last turbo setup up I did this to the whole motor head/bottom end and turbo housing and it pretty much makes it bullet proof.

Cryo treatment makes the metal more brittle. It doesn't make things bullet proof. lol

lol doesnt make it more brittle i can promise you that, ive had first hand experience. Read this article and you can understand it better and improve the life of the components.

It has to make it more brittle because I blasted a cyborg sent from the future into a zillion peices with my shotgun after cryo-ing him with some liquid nitrogen!!
