No Boost?
HI im new here ive got a 97 A4 1.8T (AEB) chipped to 1.0bar Fuel regulator Modified exhaust and intake Koni ajustable shocks intrax springs.all work done by me except the chip

My problem is i recently diconected my battery and all hell broke loose my check engine lights been on since and i just bought a boost gauge im not reading any boost at all just a hell of alot of vacuum now heres the tricky part its always been a slow car and i dont notice much difference in performance since the battery incident or since it was chipped for that matter now i figured it might be the ecu putting everthing in safe mode so i bought a manual boost controller intill i can get to a dealer(none within 3 hours of me) but im not getting any boost still everything seems in working order. does anyone know why this setup wont work and can you explain it to me im very mech inclined im ripping my hair out here any insight would be much apreciated

Is the car in limp mode? You are getting no boost at all or is the gauge not reading boost only?
Check all your hoses - especially the vac hose that leads to the BPV. Also your BPV might be dead - though that does not normally cause limp mode.
alos - try using punctuation in your posts so I can read it without having to decipher it.

no the gauge is correct i hooked up a different gauge and it still reads 0 PSI. Also I hooked up a vacuum gauge and the the vacuum goes down too 0 also but then goes back up to 15-20.I recently had the diverter valve off and everything worked like it was supposed too. also i was wondering will my car make boost when its in park mine hasnt made any at all obviously so i dont know, it wouldbe easyer to test that way. And at what rpm range does the K03 start making boost at.

You will not make boost in park.
What RPM you start making boost at depends on what gear you are in and how fast you are going.
On avg tho, I guess 3rd gear would start to hit boost at around 2800 rpm.
Possibly your turbo has died. Do you get any white smoke coming out of your exhaust when you start the car after a few hours parked? Any odd sounds like whistling?

OH, hmm wait a sec...
once you go into LIMP mode you can't get out of it unless you go to a dealer or get the car VAGed by someone. The manual boost controller you added will not do anything. It will not bypass the ECU's software (which tells the car to stay limp).
Get to a dealer or find someone with a VAGcom, dude.

The programming will throw the car into limp mode if it sees a detrimental problem. I can't say why it happened when when you disconnected your battery, or if it was just a crazy coincidence that it happened at the same time. It's there to protect the car.
Did you do an TBA (throttle body adaptation) before you started the car after reconnecting your battery? If not, try that and see what happens.
TBA
----
You have to synchronize the ECU with the throttle position sensor (when you disconnected the battery it lost all that info and has to relearn it). Turn the key to accessory mode, or until the lights come on in the instrument panel, but don't start the car! Leave the key on in this position for a minimum of 3 minutes. Have the radio off and don't touch anything for 3 minutes.
Then turn the key too the off position, and then start the car normally.

Yeah so i bought a vag com and cleared all the codes so far none have come back but i did do a TBA after reading your reply but but there were more codes that cause my formerly limp status Although the throtlebody adjustment was one of them (thanks). I think the main problem was when my battery started dieing it wasnt holding a charge and was wasnt putting out suficient voltage for some of the modules. I had a couple of low input codes to various sensors.

but everything seems fine now (famous last words) thanks guys
