Default A newbie

Hey everyone I have been looking round for a good audi forum for a few days, I have recently acquired a 1998 A4 1.9 TDI, what a car, it's my first audi and I'm very impresses by the quality.

I have already installed a Bi-xenon HID kit (4300K) which work wonderfully, is there anything I should be looking out for? Also I only have one remote key with two button function, if I were to get another one through ebay like.....:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-2-BUTTON-...3A1%7C294%3A50

Would I be able to do the original key in the ignition trick? Sorry for the newbie questions but look forward to the answers.

Also, what type of side lights does this take?

Matt

lol you guys are funny. im sorry i dont know the answer to the question though cause i dont really understand what you are asking...

are you asking if you can program this key fob to be paired with your car if you get it lazer cut to fit in your door? the answer to that question is yes, atleast you can do so on my 2000, but idk if 1998's do that!

Ah my sarcasm detector must have been really off!

Yes I am asking if I can get a key laser cut, with a different (new) remote and pair it to the car. Hope this is clearer!

as long as the FCC id on the new remote matches the one you have then your good. as long as you can find a place to do laser key cutting then a blank ebay key is fine.

so you are trying to say that the B5 A4 subforum is not for asking any technical questions? that means 8,200 threads and 72,000 posts in this subforum are against the rules. i would re-read the rules before insulting others, newbie. that rule pertains to the subforum it was posted in, AudiForums.com > General > New Member Welcome Area. this is AudiForums.com > Audi Models > Audi A4 > B5 Models. this area is for technical discussion, sorry if you are too dumb to comprehend forum hierarchy.
