So i just got a new turbo kit from ecs the exact kit is

the car runs like a rape date now when the computer is set to the specific mode.
One thing i am wondering is if anyone out there has this same kit? The turbo whine to me seems to be wrong. maybe i am just being over cautious but when i jump on it and say im driving by a gas station the turbo whine is loud enough to make everyone pumping their gas to stop dumbfounded as to wether my car is about to explode or is just that ba. i have a boost guage from podi which is amazing. the noise is loud enough to hear in the car as well it sort of sounds like a r2d2 type noise. any help? i will try to get a recording.

Yeah.. no not at all. we are talking turbo whine. not ghetto whistle woo woo! yeah no. when the psi gets lets say 5+ and higher i get a loud whine. not the same as the woo woo in the video. having upgraded clutch put on car so i cannot get a video yet but i will asap. Also i was thinking.. could the diverter valve be getting to much pressure and causing the noise?

Also can't help but notice that's a turbo for a B6, do you drive a B6 or just using the B6 turbo or what?

I have very basic knowledge about DV's, but the only way i can think of it being the DV is if this noise occur before or after a shift has been made. do you have the stock DV in?

 

Yeah i drive a b6 must of just misclicked on the b5. but the turbo does sort of sound like that but louder. is that your car. under a load does the turbo get louder with higher boost situations?
yes it is still the stock DV. and it only occurs at higher boost pressure's..

 

not my car, i don't even have a turbo. take off your TIP and check the compressor shaft, sounds like your turbo is startin to go

totally kidding, but i would recommend starting a couple threads in the b6 section, being thats what your car is ya know... and if thats what your turbo sounds like it definitely is blown... i would contact ecs
