Definitely take them out - depending on the piece, it's either 25x the hassle or just impossible to do it on the car.

theres a bolt under the little airbag tab if you have one. if not PULL, its scary but that all it takes

Yup, he's prefacelift (from the pics of the center dash). I used a beefy flathead screwdriver and put it under the top of the A pillar and popped it free from there, then pulled it the rest of the way off. Be careful on the driver side - that little grille on the pillar is a phone mic and has a wiring harness plugged in.

Pillars A & B wrapped with black suede.
How do you get C off? Just tried almost broke the whole thing

Looks good man - next step is to go get some UV spray protectant , pop them back off, and spray them so they don't bleach in the sun over the next year.

Ask me how I know this
