Default New Guy Saying Hello

Well I finally grew tired of the Honda scene and wanted to grow up a bit. Was looking at Jettas when I came across a 96 A4 Quattro 2.8 Manual for less than I could find a rotting VR6 Jetta. The car is in far better shape than its age and a beautiful Pearl White with 113,000 miles. I have been on the board for a little while and made a few posts but I was able to take some pictures today (of course right before I cleaned her wheels and gave her a bath). Tell me want you think, btw I picked it up for $3100 which seems to be a decent deal and getting a car with this mileage, quattro, and condition was a no brainer for me. In the Honda world $3100 gets you someone else's headache.

Like I said don't mind the dirty wheels I cleaned them up again today and they look great. I notice that the great brakes on this car come with A LOT of brake dust on the wheels, anyway to keep them clean for more than a week?

Oh and if anyone is interested in a 93 Honda Prelude Si 4ws let me know

sweet ride man, welcome to the forums! Glad you didn't get the chick car Jetta (although some are pretty fast!)

Yeah I was looking at GTI's but then I might as well have stayed in the Honda scene. My mom has an allroad and it is so nice, this car is slow but so comfortable and I get compliments wherever I go. I cant wait to test out the Quattro this winter, too bad that my brand new, never mounted, snow tires are 14" and wouldnt fit on the car.

Thumbs up

$3,100 is a good deal to me. I like that color too. Looks like you have the monster truck look on the front end like my 1.8t. I have lived with it for two years, and I finally have a bug up me **** to get it lowered when I do the control arms. Enjoy it. No honda in my opinion can come close to the feel of a German car, or what you can do in the winter snow.

Ha ha, it is that spot where the car is parked. I used to park my 'lude there and it gave me the exact same stance. I dont know if I want to lower it, it has such a nice ride, I cant believe that a vehicle this refined can be picked up at such a low cost (all the B5's are steals).

Welcome!

Ah, the 12v 2.8L. Arguably the most reliable engine they made for the A4. Watch those miles on the timing belt. All Audi motors are interference.

welcome! and very nice find! i all ways liked that color. as for the brake dust i had the same problem with my front brakes but only on the stock wheels when i changed my wheels i didnt have that problem so much....i dont know why. now my wheels are painted a gray color so you couldnt see the brake dust even if it was there!
