its more of a grinding. Well actually you know when something gets stuck in the fan you probably have in your living room and it makes that repeated sort of grinding/ticking noise. Or when kids put a card in their bike tire and it hits the spokes and makes that "motorclyle" sound.

Your talking about the belt driven fan not the electric fan. What should i be listening or feeling for? I hope its nothing serious. Haha i have some high hopes for what this car is going to be when im done with it.

both of them. Just turn them by hand and make sure they spin freely and are not making that noise you described. There could possibly be a wire or ziptie or something hitting it causing the noise.

ALright i just went out and checked. They both spun freely. Im wondering though, when i brought it to my mechanic before i bought the car, he said i would need a new belt. The one that drives the fan, alternator, etc... I cant remember the name of that belt for the life of me. But could it be slipping at high rpm's and thats what im hearing?

Possibly... if that belt (serpentine/accessory belt) has not been replaced then that probably means your timing belt has not been replaced... which would be amazing if your car has made it that long. I would look into that ASAP! Do you have the maintenance records for the car?

Negative on that one... Is there a way by just looking at the timing belt to know if its been changed or not. If it hasnt been replaced ill wait on my fmic, exhaust, and intake, and buy a new timing belt and put that in right effin quick.
