New coil pack help!!!
I am interested in running the 4 prong coil packs instead of the 3 prong that I have. Too my knowledge the 3 prong are problematic and they can not sustain higher levels of hp like the 4 prong.
Basically what all is needed to run the 4 prong? Is the 4 prong the best setup for a higher hp build (future goals may have me in the 400awhp range)? Is the newer TFSI COP's better? What is needed to run them as well?
Thanks in advance!

To run 4-wire coil packs you'll need to delete your ICM and install a wire harness accordingly. Check out this guide to get you started:
1998 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T AEB - ICM DELETE DIY
To run push-down coil packs (like TFSI, FSI, TSI, etc) you need adapters to hold them in place against the valve cover. Something like this: FSI Coil Adapter, 1.8T/2.7T/4.2L 5V - 034Motorsport | Performance Parts for Audi, Porsche, and Volkswagen
Also I run TSI coil packs (I did the ICM delete). These ones:
Audi Parts - genuinevwaudiparts.com
When going with later coil packs like that you can open up your spark plug gap a fair amount... my current gap is 0.040" and running like butter at idle and part/full throttle. No misfires to speak of. The previous ATW bolt-down coil packs (also 4-wire) I used had to be gapped less than 0.032", closer to the typical 0.028".
