Default New to audi need help

just bought a 1998 a4 1.8tq.. so here are the issues when i get in the car and start it the car beeps as if the doors are open but they are all closed.. same thing when i turn on the head lights. it does it for about a min. the guy put on hids on the car so not sure if that has something to do with it.. Also i saw that from the factory intercooler the hose that goes from there to the intake manifold has a clamp on it not the original one that that locks in place. i had a passat with a 1.8t and did that and it would blow off sometimes. so do i need to get the oem hose?? and lastly how hard is it to change a power steering line the one that goes under the reservoir tank. any help would be great thanks all...

the power steering would be best if up on lift as it goes all the way around and find out which of the 2 lines it is as they are pricey

anything done aftermarket in electrical sucks on a audi.

how hard are you running the car? should be fine.

I know about aftermarket, I installed a Head unit when my battery died and fried the stock head unit.(the garage i took it too to have the control arms replaced unhooked it because the alarm went off, when they hooked it back up i guess it shorted it out)

My car beeps when the door is open and lights are on, it also beeps when i put it in reverse.. different Audi, but at the same time, i never had my 2.8 beep when everything was closed.. check the door latches.. i know when my door was closed, it didnt close all the way(latches froze up in -20degree weather.) but the interior lights were off.

Never had problems replacing the lamps or anything.. wiring is pretty simple if you're just matching up wires, and plugging in different connectors.
