New to audi.....help
I bought my used audi today.....a 01 1.8t a4 with 128k. This is my first time driving audi....is the clutch in all audi's so far back....i had honda and is usually half way but this one i have to almost let it go to engage. The car looks pretty good....im only planing in doing sparks oil change...anything i should do??

from what ive heard a general census is that our cars clutches do catch late anyway, but when i bought my car the clutch engaged very late like youre talking about.. i think its common and with a car with those kinda miles im sure if its still the original clutch its seen some work and is prolly nearing the end of its life.. my clutch needs to be replaced although it hasnt slipped yet.. but when i get to around 4 grand under full boost there is a spot where it seems to let up a little bit then catch back up like a flat spot.. so i can tell its near its end.. just need to drive easy on her til i get the money to do a clutch.. but take it easy on it and you shouldnt have a problem..

Its usually a good idea to upgrade instead of replace. Even though you won't be modifying your car, generally you can find upgraded parts for equal or lesser that OEM from the dealership. An upgraded clutch will certainly take more abuse...might even give you the bug to start doing things...these cars have mad potential.
