Well I'm not convinced I want to keep this thing and I hate to spend more money on it. Thus far the headlights don't work, it stalls randomly when I come to a stop, and it has this idle issue. That and upon opening the steering Colum it looks like it has been getting hot or at one time got very hot where all the lights connect. Looking like this car has its demons.

Used cars can be a double edged sword... Did you at least try disconnecting the MAF? Also, did you try scanning it for any codes?

I'm pretty sure the random stalling and idle are connected. Best thing is to get the VCDS and get some codes read, or maybe find someone on here that's close to you that will read the codes for you. Unplugging the MAF is a good starting point as well. If you unplug it while it's running, see if there is a difference with it unplugged.

The Headlight stalk has been known to go bad on our cars.

I just tried the manual reset on my throttle body and the idle was noticeably different and much faster/higher the it ever has been. Car is warming up now for the ride to work. Lets hope this makes the difference!

Well it made a difference. Car ran amazing all the way to the gas station where I turned it off to fill up. When I started it back up it ran horribly and even stalled twice on the way to work and the check engine light came on. Sucks all the problems I've had since I got it the check engine light has never been on till now. Guess I should have left it alone.

So yesterday and today it was about single digits for the first time in about two weeks. Suddenly my check engine light went off, headlights work and the car is running great. Only ailment is the hard shift at between 1500 and 2000 rpms when staying at a steady pace. Yet if I slip it over to the triptonic it puts its self in the appropriate gear and rolls on smooth. I hope the warm weather stays around because when the car is like this it makes the $1,300 I paid feel like the best money I've ever spent.
