Just buy new spark plugs, why spend time cleaning them? Nothing beats new spark plugs.

Ok so I goofed a little, the RPM surging only does it while the transmission is in drive. So factor in the out side temp, engine temp and now a load on the engine. I can be sure of one thing the colder the out side temp the more surging I get. As soon as the temp needle moves the surging goes away.

Ok unemployed sucks, all work on the A4 has come to a hault Since Union went on strike I must have washed and waxed a dozen times. Of course this is in between job searching. It might be time to leave New England. I am still looking for answers on the RPM surging issue.

Have been back to work now for 2 months feels great. Sorry I have not posted anything since then, the A4 is running great. I have been surfing around this weekend to see what kind of money should be spent first. The short list, front bearings, transmission service, dreaded timing belt. I would also like to try the PCV revamp this summer. Saturday I spent 5 hours washing, claying, waxing, rubbing compound on the lowers. Cleaning carpets, leather etc.

The troubles with my B7 are starting to add up. Wheel bearings are needed, 99,342 miles this means timing belt change, BSH PCV needed, changed spark plugs found oil in the #4 spark plug whole. But here is something strange, the oil is cleaner than that in the sump. So no mods just repairs and keep it reliable.

1.8 cold miss fire
I have a misfire on initial start up but it goes away after about 10 seconds. I'm thinking my #2 injector is not holding pressure and flooding the cylinder. after 10 seconds or so, it is fine and runs great. It only has to sit for about a half hour or 45 minutes for the problem to recur. If I let it set for 36-48 hours, the problem often will not surface at all. It is an 02 B5 with 78K miles. I've run a tank of gas with BG 44K and no difference. Any other thoughts?

Take your spark plugs out, are they all the same looking?. If you think you have a miss fire then Coil. Should have nothing to do with fuel pressure, if so it would effect all cylinders. Do you have any engine codes?.
