need help with shocks fitment
hello guys i have a 2000 audi a4 quattro avant 1.8t and i need new shocks, mainly the front but i'd rather do them all, so i went to autozone to get them priced and they asked if it was avant and so the prices for front werent bad but for some reason the back are 180$ each
so i checked online for coilover fully adjustable and i found a set for 500 that says they fit the sedan but not the wagon avant, i thought they were the same
so my question is will the front and rear shock from a sedan fit on the avant?

I don't believe that there is any difference in the avant or base struts. The avant rear springs may be a slightly higher spring rate to compensate, but the dampers should be identical.
Unless you are really interested in adjusting ride height, etc. I would not go with some cheap coilovers. The ride quality will suffer greatly and they will most likely wear out much faster.
If you're interested in a small drop and slightly stiffer, you could find someone selling their sport suspension and install that. I'm not sure what Autozone was quoting you for prices, but I would shop around a bit. I've found that for Euro cars, you can get higher quality parts for better prices by not going to the local parts stores (Autozone, Napa, O'reilly...). FCP Euro happens to be my favorite at the moment for buying parts. They have good prices, and offer free shipping if you spend over $25.
