Default Need help melted vacuum valve and 5-wire O2 Sensor??? (PICS)

I just bought this 2001 Audi a4 1.8t avant w/90,000m auto.I know my way around cars and plan on doing all the maintenance myself even the timing belt which Ill hold off on for a year or so. Well it threw a cel on my 6 hour drive back (Avants are a hard find in FL). I stopped and had it checked out to make sure it was nothing major. Autozones scan tool showed a lean conditionfor thebank one O2 sensor (before cat), sorry cant find the code number Im getting a print out tomorrow. So I figured a O2 sensor would solve this I got the universal Bosch but its a 4 wire and mines a 5-wire and I can't find a universal 5-wire anywhere. Is this oneof the dreaded dealer only parts I don't have a manual or know much about these vw engines yet (retired honda fan). Ill pick up a Haynes and a Bentley or one of the better ones later but I need to get this fixed asap. I don't like letting things sit and pile up.

Second thing Ive found so far is the valve pictured looks like it just melted away. Any idea what its called, itsfunction and where I can get one.

Id also like to either fab up a short ram intake or get a mildly priced one some where any ideas?

Thanks looking forward to learning from and contributing to this forum.

ecstuning. com has everything you need.
The burnt part is called a check valve. they about 25bucks.
As far as the o2 sensor, universal ones won't work (I've tried it) you have to get the right one.
Heres the check valve.

Thanks for the fast response, I called advanced again and he looked up an 02 with the same motor and it had a wideband for 150. I ordered it and Im going to see if the plug works. Is there a chance I can use a universal check valve or are those set for a certain psi or something. Any ideas on what could of caused that?Im pretty sure this car has a limp mode cause it doesnt seem to have much potental with the cel on but Im also used to a much fasternatuarlly asperatedcar, anyone confirm. Thanks

yea hiwords mine has 4 wires too, but I tried a universal one when mine went out and it ran even worse. So I ended up wasting $40 on the generic 02 sensor and ended up having to get an oem one from ecs. I think it has something to do with the higher temp ranges because it's so close to the turbo. (the generic one had lots of holes the tip, where the oem one has only one)
And Huntersirg, you can use a universal check valve, I just wasn't able to find one the right size. (all it does is keep air going only one direction)

Alright thanks for the help. I found a local O2 sensor you have to order the one for a 02 1.8t they come with the 5 wire wideband. It still threw the p0171 code so Im guessing its going to be that check valve causing a vaccum leak. Anyone back me up on this? Im going to order from ecs. How are they on shipping time? Look for my post of pics once I get a few things done, should look clean. Later.
