Default Need help installing chrome gauge rings

My gauge rings (snap-in rings) came in the mail today and I quickly started to install them, After searching for the right torx head screwdriver I easily removed the cluster and took it apart. Now I'm ready to install the rings. Is there any way to remove the clear plastic part because the small rings are extremely stubborn and the minimal amount of finger space isn't helping. The large rings were no problem, but the little ones are a real pain in the *** haha.

You just gotta struggle through it. Well at least I did. Its difficult but it can be done, with many curse words being thrown around. I used a small flathead screwdriver to hold the furthest part in while I worked the ring around the circle.

I gave up lol (after much cursing). I left the two around the tachometer and the speedometer in place because those were the only ones I could get in. I'll save the others for another day I guess, but I like it with the two big rings only anyway.
