I don't know if I've just been lucky or what, but I haven't had a single issue with my car other than a leaky evap canister which was a $3, 5-minute fix. I have put about 30,000 miles on the car (1998 1.8T quattro) and have owned it for a year now with no hiccups.

I also have USAA insurance, and I pay about $82/month (22 year old).

I had a buddy up in NY who had a sick SRT-4 that made about 400HP at the crank.

He sold it and bought a S2000. I don't know what he's done with it since then because I moved to Kansas...

Before I totaled my A4 I paid 210 a month for insurance full coverage. I am 19 and on my parents insurance through state farm. I lost my discount because of the accident...oh well so its going to be 245 a month now. really I haven't had TOO much go wrong on the car before the accident. the trick is to make sure its in good condition, has the service records, drive it longer than 30 mins too I didn't test drive mine too long and the next day the alternator went. Parts are more expensive but insurance is a lot cheaper I looked at an rsx and it was going to be 375 a month to insure. definitely not a fast car I raced my buddies tiburon...I lost I suppose I should include that it was a 1.8t..btw Im shopping for another one if that tells ya anything.
