Yeah, great, but my A4's my winter beater, so I don't care. A fast Honda is still a Honda. You're trading style for rice... not cool. Why not get an S4?

At 19 I pay around $120/month for full coverage. Then again I go through USAA which is a private company that caters to military members and their families.

USAA FTW, banking, insurance, credit...

Anyway, I'm paying about 100 a month for full coverage on the wife's car and liability on my A4. The liability is only about 25 bucks a month.

Then again, I am almost 30...

I just got an 01 1.8t, it's the sport with quattro and manual trans. I used to work in the parts dept. for a VW dealer and swore that I would never buy a VW or Audi because of all of the repairs that the cars were coming in for..... Well, 5 years later I decided that I didn't care and bought one anyways. I can't speak of it's reliability since I have only had it for a month or so, but I can tell you that parts are expensive... both OEM and aftermarket (performance). I got a good deal on mine with full service records, but still changed stuff as soon as I got it just to be safe.

I have NEVER been one to work on my own cars (I have had integras, civic, prelude, 4Runner, IS300, Altima), some of the easiest cars to work on and I never did. I have NO training or major experience working on cars, but I have always been around mechanics (working in parts and service). I can tell you that the basic maintenance stuff is really not hard to do on these, and there are AWESOME diy websites to help with pretty much everything. When it comes to the electrical issues, I am sure you'll need to take in to a place but you might get the answers online. I would say that if it's the car you like, get it! I am sure you and your dad could handle the labor for it, and do a lot of research on parts.

Oh yeah, if you like to 1.8t and are hoping to get it to make the whoosh sound (bov)... buy an srt4 or something else
