Need help, coolant flush.
After draining the old coolant, I fill up the reservor tank and turn on the engine with heater on full blast; just like the DIY i read.
It's been 15 minutes and the engine temp gauge is about 1/4, but it is NOT sucking down the water. What am I doing wrong, how hot does the eng need to be before it sucks water.
Thanks.

the thermostat needs to open before the whole system starts flowing. before that its just circulating water around the engine block and not thru the radiator, expansion tank or radiator hoses. try squeezing the main radiator hose at the top or bottom to try and move some air around.
if the system is completely empty and not drawing water from the expansion tank, take off the upper radiator hose and let gravity pull some fluid down. there has to be atleast something in the system for the water pump to pump. if you run it completely empty you will be doing quite a bit of damage.
