Need help, badly!!!
Hey guys!
I posted a thread not too long ago about the rounded off 6mm bolts on my crankshalft pulley... Ok, now I really badly need to get them off!!! I have tried almost everything, those things are in too damn tight!!!
I sprayed penetrating oil.
I tried that special "bolt remover" or "easy out" bit that is reverse spiral shaped to which you gotta drill a pilot hole into the bolt and it broke off (now I have the tip of that thing inside the bolt).
I tried to Quicksteel (mega-glue) a hex bit into the bolt, but the glue wasn't strong enough and it shattered like glass.
I've tried vise-grips like a mother but they just end up slipping, no matter how tight I manage to get them to grip.
When I went to my local Audi dealership the lead mechanic recommended I use a hammer and a chisel/ice-pick and hit the bolts at an angle so I make them rotate counter-clockwise and thus come out. Tried that and it's hard to get the chisel in correctly because of the inset on the pulley, plus I just don't have a good feeling about hammering a "harmonic balancer", it sounds like a delicate piece of equipment.
I don't know what else I can do now, I'm desperate, I need to get this job done before the beginning of next week as I gotta send the tools back to BLAU.

stop making multiple threads about the same problem. bump your other thread if its not getting responses. people dont need to read about this twice.
worse comes to worst you can weld another bolt onto the stripped one and crank it out. glue obviously wont work. try hammering on a socket thats slightly too small. or do what i told you to in the other thread.

Listen my friend, I had the same problem, easy solved. just weld bigger nut on top of the bolt head and use spanner to unscrew the bolts. Use CO welder. It worked with me fine, even used the same bolts after. Hope will work with you too.
