Same exact thing happend to me (dead bat,jump, TB fault), and multiple TB alignment attempts is what eventually worked. But my car was driveable and rpm's were stable. I think I finally got it to work after several drive cycles.
I'm DBW and you are DBC, so I guess we arent comparing apples to apples, but same concept I suppose.

I have the same problem here.
My 99 A4 V6 Quatto was sitting undriven for 3 months during summer.
Dead battery and then with code P1545. Now need to give gas to start, up/down rpm between 1200-to-1600 rpm while giving gas. Misfire, no power and not willing to rev above 3000 rpm.

vag-com code said P1545. Tried throttle adaption but it gives "adaption status: ERROR"
One of the TV angle is 25.6 degree (suppose 0-5 degree).
Reset the code, but it still have up/down rpm but not improving.
I have the same code again after car ran for a few minutes.

What is the cure ? What am I supposed to do from here ?
How can I adj the TV angle back to normal angle ?
