Default Need help!

Took the airbox apart to clean the filter now i have my check engine light on and the engine is gettin hottt.
Any ideas? Thanks

Check MAF sensor you may have got it dirty when you took it apart=bad, scan for codes?

How do i check it? And i gotta wait till lAter tonight to scan it.

you open the box, MAF is on top piece clean it (very carefully) or at least see if its dirty. Did you get codes?

You shouldn't be "cleaning" an OEM filter. They're paper and should be replaced. MAF cleaner can be had at AutoZone for <$10, but me thinks you've got bigger problems, because a dirty MAF wouldn't be causing your engine to overheat. Scan for codes (Also AutoZone) and repost.

alright so im a noob and cleaned the paper filter, haha
but there was alot of dust in the box so it couldnt have been totally pointless until i did watever it is i did
and autozone in california wont do scans anymore (it is illegal)
so i have to wait for my dads buddy to get home so i can scan it.
