I have an 01 A4 1.8T with about 118k miles on it. It has all the maintenance done, new timing belt, and all fluids changed about 1k miles ago.

When I get out to start the car, about 40 degrees, it turns over (so I know its not the battery), but wont start. It has 1/4 tank of gas. Then check engine light came on, blinking, and turned off about 1 minute later. It did idle very rough. Drove it about 15 miles, without a problem. Now it starts fine.

Just had the recall from Audi for the coils replaced.

Any ideas?? Is their something wrong?? Going wrong??

You should get the engine code it threw.

 

If engine light is still blinking do not drive the car, it means that the engine is misfiring. Have the code pulled at autozone, advanced auto etc and let us know what it is
