yeah i thought about doing that. thanks for the advice! i will probably end up using that method.

after test fitting a few of the pieces, i didn't like the way the false floor sat, so i ran to home depot this morning and got another piece of wood to cut, which i can cut to fit better now that i have a better idea. the new piece is also 1/4 inch rather than 1/2 inch so that will reduce the weight a small amount as well.

so i've finished the fabrication and wrapping all of the panels in suede. overall i'm very happy with the outcome. it turned out exactly how i wanted. all i have left to do is paint under the amplifier, white; cover the amp in plexi; and wire the entire system...oh and put the subs in

Why do you have to wait so long to do the wiring?

time/money basically.

i have a show this weekend and i have to prep the car for it. after that i can begin wiring. i'd rather take my time on it, as i have some lighting to wire up as well, rather than rush through it and do a half-assed job

I wish I could have a setup like this for the sound and the engine performance.

Guess it would partly require having an S4 as well, but I can still dream haha.

None the less, a4_2.8tuner, nice work with the setup you contrived. My plan for my 2.8 trunk audio when I get the money is to tuck the woofers into the little niches just behind where the tail lights are. Saw a guy who had done it that way and the idea of keeping the trunk space is quite appealing.

a4_2.8tuner that is off the hook for a first time project. a4Cragman you said you saw a guy put them by the tail lights, do you have anymore info on that because that sounds like what i want to do, i have 2 8" kenwood carbon fiber flat subs and i want to some how make them hidden and preserve as much of the trunk as possible, while making a sweet setup.
