Smile My friend won"t stay up!!!!

ha got you all!!! dirty minds!.......well here is my issue that seems to get worse week by week.i have a 97 1.8t quatro, manual trans ....sometimes it refuses to turn over, got a cel, got it scanned and got 1 code and it pointed towards to thermostat(cooling system) my wife turns on the ac and it will sometime seems like it will die, the rpms go up and down at idle, instead of staying where it should be...she says that she can feel a slight tremble in the brake pedal. everything else on this car is fine, later on this week she will take it in to get a timing belt, water pump, sea foam and of course the thermostat job done.

if any of you guys can give me some advice from experience....it would be greatly appreciated

that might be it but thats way too much money. look under the hood, behind the engine you should see a black piece of plastic with two round ports on it. one will be blocked with a piece of plastic and one will have your CTS in it with a few wires coming out. theres two versions, one is green and one is blue. you need to match the same color as what you have. then go to ecstuning.com and find the replacement sensor for like $8.

btw 80% of the time, ebay=fail for quality car parts. there are a few deals to be found there but you have to look, and weed thru the rest of the garbage from china.

the rpm drop on idle. mine does that too. i think it just takes a low of power to run the fan and the condensor and all of that so. maybe its not normal and something is wrong with mine too.
