My daughters Audi no-more

My daughters Audi no-more
Shame that she cannot keep what she received so many complimants for and more imporatantly was a great automobile. Everyone knew her by her pelican blue A4 Quattro.
She was the recipient of a head on collsion at a busy intersection. The other driver was found at fault in all accounts. Air bags deployed thank God and she came away with few injuries. otherwise? Who knows???
The Audi did its job and took the brunt of the head on. Damage is to extensive to repair at its current value. A shame because she really wants another one in the same color. Very hard to find.
I cannot acquire the Audi even though there's likely thousands to be made from parts because I simply don't have the time or space to store the car.
I'd like to find her another B5 or B6. Other than fairly mild body changes can anyone tell me the primary diferrences with these models?
Thanks!

Oh man! I remember when you first posted pictures of the car. It was spotless and clean!
Though like said, I'm glad your daughter walked away with minor injuries.
Best of luck finding a new car. Keep us updated!

My daughter wants this car. It appears pretty sweet but i have some reservations.

I know alot of you folks have turbo's.
At what point do they need repaired or replaced.
Are they reliable and how much more will be added on for Insurance? Remember this car will be my daughters approaching 19 with a clean record. She shouldn't get a hit as the other party was soley at fault on this one.
Also we would be upgrading to a B6 from a B5 model.
I don't know the major changes if any on these models other than style.
I will make sure the timing belt has been changed, if not what is the typical expense for that?
What do you think of this car?
Thanks,
Swankster aka Rich

Looks nice. Due for the timing service if it has not been done already (proof proof proof). Reasonable DIY ($300 or less for parts and accessories) but can be pricey if you have to pay someone to do it, ball park $1000.
There are tons of threads here on the proper care and feeding of a 1.8T. If she likes it and the car checks out OK (recommend having an independent mechanic give it a look over before you commit to buy, even if you have to pay for it).
Call insurance and ask for a quote.
good luck and let us know

Generally I'd say the turbo will last until about 150,000. Though this also depends on how the turbo is being treated. Warm up the car and cool down the turbo before turning off the engine helps with the turbo's reliability.
So far my 1.8T has been pretty reliably to me. I have the late model B5 so the engines are the same as the ones that came in the B6.
The major change is obviously the body style and there are little interior changes.
